How Does Apollo 13 Use The Newton's Second Law
Reputation , Reviews , fake reviews ... these are hot topics in the hotel industry and tourism in general. Also at the Buy Tourism Online 2010 in Florence, the theme was taken up during a panel discussion with TripAdvisor, trivago, Directory, and ReviewPro Zoover .
I was hoping for a substantively different approach. However, it went to a few minutes already discussed the question of whether the user of a hotel review page not reveal his identity must in to rate a hotel or other tourist services may not.
the hoteliers there were customers will make the bad reviews. None of the present Hotel review sites forces the customer's identity released. This remains an option of the user if he would like to register, for example with Facebook Connect or with his Google profile.
see the hoteliers of course different, because they want to defend their reputation with court orders against bad reviews and ungrateful guests. Apart from the fact that they consider any potentially bad rating as a fake.
booking sites like Expedia or Booking.com, their own Guest Reviews collect and publish this demand of the hotels are not affected. Vote you can only if you have booked. The fact that the hoteliers to create mass false accounting to be able to vote themselves, which they do not know. In the same mass and hotel review sites of false assessments are affected by the hoteliers. On TripAdvisor, it even goes so far that offer software applications specifically Houses to mass-publish positive reviews for the hotel.
The moral of the story: Hotels only cause damage to themselves.
reputation is not only a question of evaluation . Word of Mouth or German word of mouth is the name of the conversation, speaking in an experience with a product is. It is not just about advertising or recommendations by a customer to a friend. This can all take place as a small talk, when we as telling his last vacation. With today's variety of social media, many of these conversations happen on the Web, where sure the guys from Mountain View (Google), that they are found by the person who seeks them out.
Can we stop the Word of Mouth? Hardly. And so it is in my opinion a waste of time to deal with the issue of anonymity in Reviews . Much more, I expect that more and more hoteliers, but also destinations to deal constructively with ratings. They see this as an opportunity to improve the quality of their work and exploit the potential of the Word of Mouth for customer retention and promotion.
In it went to my workshop on Online Reputation Management in a sold out room during the BTO 2010th But it's more in my next post for Social Media for Business .

The object was in this round of talks on the role of corporate customers and their needs to the service providers to introduce. Contrary to expectations, was the discussion relaxed and "attacks" against the performers were completely made especially by the SME travel agents. We have then discussed more general information about the current situation, issues and "problems" between industry and service providers. For example, why the SBB their online business tool does not open for travel agencies or what to expect in the future of the service providers on Direct Link / Direct Access. Where we were able to stage that SMEs and globally operating customers expect from your travel agents and TMCs in the future "Full Content". And thus ensure access to all available airline fares and additional services. Whether this is in the interests of airlines, Lena Knaus was not a clear answer. In the final round would beat Eichenberger participants know about us, where we see the challenges of the next 5 years in the business travel sector. In my view, these are the following:
5th Corporate Social Responsibility with Travel Tracking, carbon footprint etc.
then stood on the stage over under the direction of Chris Probst of Travel Inside the GDS-chief. Cornel Küng (Amadeus), Anne Rösener (Sabre) and the newly responsible for Travelport Switzerland Jürgen Witte discussed the current challenges to the GDSs (including unbundling / Direct Access) and the importance of content. Unfortunately there was no information on the new desktop products, which are rolled out by all providers in parts of the world. Almost as a "savior" and "egg-laying Wollmilchsäue" Amadeus is One, Travelport and Sabre Red Universal Desktop promoted in USA and Australia. More then in a later post.

Optimist Sailboat Sell
Fresh from Copenhagen back with an exciting theme for my column Social Media for Business : why should cooperate with PR agencies and marketing department with Travel Blogger? have
The answer to this question myself on the occasion of Travel Blog Exchange been some bloggers (and PR professionals) from the U.S.. Thus, this work goes even so far as to participate in the study tours that not even more travel agents, but only travel bloggers.
Johnny E. Di Scala aka Johnny Jet , one of the first and now most popular travel bloggers of the United States , with over 200 press trips the living example. And under Press Trips sees itself as the travel with the Pope to Israel!
Another example brought Ella Marshall and her work as a blogger for Finnair . She travels with Finnair to the world and wrote about the flight, the food on board, the airports, on which she sleeps in hotels and about the destination itself satisfied with the motto Rethink Quality them as readers and potential customers that Finnair is not just any airline, but a company that with heart in the matter is . Not important?
Take just purely hypothetical, it's that you could fly from Zurich to the same price to your destination with the Swiss or with Swissair. Which airline would you choose?
were fascinating differences between the present, Europeans and Americans. A PR professional from Austria raised the objection that it was difficult to persuade European consumers to invite bloggers to a press trip instead of journalists. May it recommended Lilley (International Public Relations Coordinator at Vail Resorts ) make the decision solely in terms of the objective: to reporters, the result is published in Articles from one to two, with blogger for 30-40 articles. Sun May:
I can not imagine that your clients have any objection to the press kit consists of 40 instead of 2 pages.Whether this rate of return possible in Europe, I would leave open for now. I have found that there are differences among EU countries, which could significantly affect the results. For example, in Italy there are nearly 40,000 travel blogs. In Germany, the travel section in the blog directory listed does not arise. (Source: Wikio.it / Wikio.de)
And what criteria are looking for PR agencies from the bloggers? This question would have a separate discussion deserve! Visitor numbers are in my opinion not conclusive enough. Representative would be because the Trust (Trust) and Popularity (awareness) of a blogger or blog in its Web community. Twitter account for these and other values are measured. Here is an example .
If this development will keep venues throughout Europe, will create the travel office employees have either a blog or they are not even allowed to participate in study tours.
What do you think of this?

Navman Icn 520 Install
On 4 to 6 November 2010 in Copenhagen, the Travel Blog Exchange (TBEX) instead . An event that is in the U.S. at home, but for the first time in Europe takes place.
acting mostly in the workshop to learn Travel Blogger (or travel-blogger) in part to share their experience with other bloggers, and something about SEO, writing techniques, video blogging and public relations.
This is not only to travelers who share their experiences in words and pictures to a close circle of friends further. It's about writers who tell the world through the eyes of travelers and from the perspective of the people at your destination.
Technically this is called Opinion Leaders and Influencers: their personal experiences and share them trends and influence their fellow human beings on the Web.
How influential travel bloggers have become , also shows the growing interest in the travel industry. Such as Zurich Tourism . To launch a conversation about the city of Zurich as a destination among independent travelers, the tourist board invited some a travel blogger and left them with various tours and events to experience the city. The result were several blog posts, tweets, photos and video. In Italy, for example, one could simply not take that one could swim in Lake Zurich and that the bathrooms were in the city!
I will also be in the Travel Blog Exchange here, and I'll keep you current. The best of Twitter with # TBEX or @ micheleaggiato (tweets will be in English). And of course Travel Brain Blog ( Feed )
also like to Copenhagen? Click here to register .
the way I was persuaded Adrian to regularly write about Social Media for Business . As in Charge of Social Media Strategy for Zoover me the inputs are hardly lacking. Hopefully not the time.
Stay tuned.

Helena Bonham Carter In Lady Jane
After I mentioned the rise in some of my last posts on this blog are once again, has now yesterday the 5th Swiss Travel Management Forum at the Swissotel in Zurich-Oerlikon place. The occasion was attended by nearly 150 participants quite well. The mix between service providers and corporate travel managers, I feel still not optimal. Although Volker Huber the VDR has been satisfied.
After Welcome and introduction to the topic by Volker Huber with references to the upcoming presentations and breakout sessions Beat of the Day Eichenberger, editor in chief of travel manager took over for the day moderation.
Key Unit - Swiss International Air Lines
He then drew attention to upcoming product innovations. Even when asked by Beat Eichenberger but he did not want the information necessary for the next new long-haul destination . Come out The conference concluded with the wishes of the Swiss at the local travel managers and please understand that, a quality network carriers such as the Swiss just do not offer everything, and especially all included at the lowest price.
Mobile & Social Media in Business Travel
was the first time at the forum yesterday addressed the current trends around mobile and social media. On request of the organizers, we were allowed to take over from travel brain the design of this session with a presentation and a panel discussion to deepen the themes. In order to allow
those present some experiences and AHA to take the focus once by the established tools and services, we have consciously Florian Wieser of coUNDco a non-industry speakers on board and brought together the "regular business trip" posted.
With a focus on the possibilities of new smart phones Florian has great wit and Viennese charm the audience the world of mobile devices, the countless apps around umd on travel and its interaction with social media brought closer. Of fascination of disbelief - the way to mark up everything but I - various reactions in the room were observed.
Although lacking in the Präsention on Slide Share the animations and the original sound but of course can still anyone watch the slides here again.

an illustrious small group of designated experts for the continuation of the theme to welcome in a panel discussion. For about an hour we had the opportunity areas terminals, travel map services, location based services, and Facebook - Twitter & Co illuminate something, and of the men something about the expectations (Peter Broderick), trends (Florian Wieser) and the next steps ( Mark Oliver & Glasses Schulze to learn). In brief, we made it, I hope, the sense of travel managers and service providers to raise something, and to highlight the current trends closely.
intriguing topics and developments that accompany us safe in the coming months and years and will keep you busy.
Break-Out Sessions
interesting and sometimes unexpected insights into the challenges of international consolidation of travel management granted after the lunch break Christopher Carnie, Director Travel & Fleet from Merck.
was simultaneously in a second room of the hotel purchasing professional to the test made. Since I unfortunately could not split up despite great themes, I have noticed only in passing, what was discussed.

future of the single travel management
female Speak As Erin pointed to the coffee break Andrea Schindler on high-low the organization's internal purchasing and travel management processes for the construction company. With some figures on the volume and the recent savings achieved then transferred to a panel discussion chaired by Jörg Martin on the future of travel management "
In a star cast to Beat Bürer (HRG ), Michael Flück (ABB), Felix Albaran (SAM Group) and Mrs. Schindler has spoken about the current (seemingly) improved position of the travel management company and today's challenges. Unfortunately they lost to by I think, a little too firmly in the here and now, and the optimal organizational embedding of travel management, forgetting the little glimpse into the future.
days Summary
The three organizers of the event, Volker Huber (VDR), Beat Eichenberger (travel manager) and Peter Schmid (BrainNet) stood still on stage to what is seen again briefly review to have happen to single out the highlights, to thank the speakers and visitors and, of course, all for even the next networking cocktail warmly inviting.
travel brain-
Conclusion In my view (with brain-travel glasses has found) a very successful event of its place in the agenda for many travel managers and service providers. The share of the travel manager among the participants expected to rise slightly. Too bad that here the TMCs do not put anything more into stuff and invite their customers to. One more opportunity to stand up for and with the customers! With mobile and social media as a theme, the organizers a step in the right direction have made - new themes and new faces :-). Whether on stage or in the hall, travel brain is definitely in the next year with it.

How To Stop Cats From Pooing In The Plant Pot?
Just days before the occasion of the Business Travel Year, the fifth Swiss Travel Management Forum have been two well-known and long-time leaders in BTA First Travel and Travelport their resignations known. Admittedly, for me at this point somewhat surprising. But maybe I just missed in the last few weeks something :-).
After 10 years, Galileo / Travelport decided Chris Dorner want to encourage business and that, as of yesterday in a statement Monday, writes to face a new challenge. In the press release is still nothing like this, but mentioned in the Travel Inside Newsletter today that this new challenge within the industry will be. When exactly will be the departure is not to be found in the publications. Travelport has already begun the search for a successor and also taken a regional restructuring in attack. As part of this reorganization will be to take Jürgen Witte the superior position of Regional Managing Director Germany & Switzerland.
With Daniel Neukomm leaves one of the most famous exponents of the hotel industry-ship plan. For about 12 years, Daniel Neukomm the business division of Hotelplan that occurred on the local market under the name First Business Travel. With the scheduled release of First Business Travel in the BTA First Travel AG, Daniel Neukomm has now decided to leave the company at the end of September 2010. A successor for Neukomm it will not apparently be - the authority will no longer exist in that form in the organization. Whether Daniel Neukomm remains the industry, the communications is not apparent yet.
It will be interesting, which companies and in which the two functions will occur in the future in the market. One thing I can say at this stage will almost certainly - for travel brain it will not be! Why not?
we both do at this point of friction and conflict-free Leaving the current employer and a great start to the new tasks.
